Exhibition Week
The exhibition is now finally here and I have now officially completed all practical project work. I received my final prints in their frames yesterday and I am happy with the results. During the course of this week I have began the set up for the end of year exhibition where my work will be displayed. I am happy to report that my final collect of works have been successfully put on display and are ready for the open evening tomorrow.

1 week before the exhibition
It is exactly 1 week to go before the exhibition open evening and I have finally managed to get everything finished. I ordered my promotional business cards and postcards which arrived last Saturday, I have completed my webpage which will be exhibited alongside my work at the exhibition and have also completed my Statement for Assessment which was submitted today.
Everything throughout the course of the project has gone according to plan with only a couple of minor setbacks.
Below are images of my promotional materials and also my glass work which will be exhibited alongside my screen prints at the exhibition next week.

Screen 2 & 3
With 2 1/2 weeks to go until the exhibition open evening, I have finally managed to get 2 more screens prepared for print. This had taken slightly longer than I had allocated time for, especially as I had to allocate time for colour experiments and compositions layouts such as colour overlays. Despite this minor setback, everything is back n track and I have been able to begin the development stage of my 2 new screens. Once this has been completed I will be able to start on my final pieces and also prepare my final screen.
I have produced one of my final prints for the exhibition which has proven to be as such successful as I had hoped for.
At this stage of my project I am ready to begin my Statement for Assessment and also begin pricing up frames for my final pieces.

Promotional Material
As part of PDP a requirement has been to produce promotional material such as a webpage and business cards/postcards for the exhibition. The webpage that I have produced has been purely for a portfolio and a method of exhibiting other projects that I have done throughout the year.
I considered using the website WIX in order to create my own webpage, however I felt that I was limited to what I could achieve and felt that it did not reflect the themes of my work over the course of my 3rd year. I have therefore used different software/programming (Hype, HTML 5 Animation Programme) in order to achieve the desired effect for the end of year exhibition which is a true reflection of my practice throughout my degree. This will be displayed at the exhibition alongside my final artworks.
I have also been considering what design I would use for my business cards and postcards. I knew that I wanted the images I used to relate directly to my final project and final artworks. I feel that this will bring everything together. However, as I am at the start of producing my final artworks, the images I intend to use are not finished as of yet. As I am intending on using my final prints as the images for my promotional cards; initial, experimental prints will be sufficient in applying to these cards.
Below are screen shots of my postcards to demonstrate what the end product is going to look like:

Second Screen
____________________________________________________________
Beginning to print from second screen, however these have been unsuccessful.
Initially thought it was the lack of pressure I applying when spreading the ink, hence the numerous identical prints. However, after speaking to the printing technician, it was made clear that it was the image on the screen that was causing the problem. As a result of this, I will have to re-visit the image, edit it and reprint it before it can be transferred onto the screen.
This is a minor setback but will be resolved before the end of the week. Everything is still in accordance with my time plan.

Working on 1st Silk Screen and Preparing 2nd Screen
Below is further documentation of the final stage of development for the project. As you can see I have began work on my final pieces.
At this stage I have been experimenting with initial prints using newsprint paper and cartridge paper. I have also experimented with different colours and also the overlapping over colours. The next stage is to print onto sommerset printing paper for the final piece but before I reach this stage I still that there is room for more development and experimentation.
