Working Towards Final Artwork.

With 7 weeks to go until the exhibition, my development work is coming along nicely. I have decided on the experimental pieces I wish to develop further into a final artwork, I just have to resolve the problem of what process, method and materials I am going to use.

Still remembering that the concept of this project is how we as a society value things purely based on appearance ( the majority of the time) this is especially true when it comes to valuing artwork. Is it the concept that is the most important factor or is it the physicality of the artwork itself?? This is what I have been trying to express throughout the course of this project and I think i'm managing to achieve this successfully :) I have based the work of this project  on the surrounding landscapes of where I live, I have photo-documented different areas within a number of different landscapes which I have found to be of great interest and in relation to the concept/theme. I have then gone on to abstract these images in a number of ways, from simplifying the entire image to its most basic form, enlarged the scale of each drawing, sandblasting image onto glass (digital printing) and also expressed elements of my photographs through the use of fused glass.

I am also still in the process of working on digital portfolio and promotional material for PDP and the end of year exhibition. Webpage is coming along nicely and at good pace and should be finished with the next few weeks to follow. Promotional material such as my business cards and postcards have still to be finalised but again should be done within the next few weeks.

Below is documentation of the stage in which I am at with the project:

Promotional Material: Webpage Screen Shots - Development

Further development with my web page promotional material. This has consisted of following the same format but incorporating a number of different artworks for Studio Practice 1 & Studio Practice 2. There is still a lot of work to be done but I hope to have it finished within the next few weeks.

I also have to begin considering what images I intend to use for my business cards and postcards which will be alongside my work at the exhibition. My intention is to use images of my work from Studio Practice 2. However, it is images of my final piece that I want to incorporate into these and as a result will not be able to finalize my ideas on these for at least another week.

Promotional Material: Webpage Screen Shots

Images Change

Easter Holidays

Over the past week I have been focusing on my PDP Graduation Plan and research folder as that hand-in for this is next week: Wednesday 17th April. My focus has been to improve my graduation plan report and presentation and to also check that I have all the relevant information needed for the hand-in.

Next stage is to work more on my promotional materials; this consists of business/postcards and my webpage. This task will be carried out this week. As I do not plan to go into business after I graduate, my webpage will simply be a portfolio piece, which I intend to have on display at the end of year exhibition alongside my work. Screen shots of the webpage will be posted as soon as possible (or as soon as I figure out how to do a screen shot)

PROJECT:
Over the past few weeks the development of my concept/them/project has been progressing nicely and is on par with my time-plan. At the current moment I am experimenting with scale and further abstraction of the images I have been using. My intention for the exhibition and final submission is to create a multiple of artworks of a great scale. This is proving to be an issue but I have considered a number of possibilities as to how I can achieve this. One of the possibilities is to have the images sandblasted onto glass on a large scale, possibly incorporating light into the work: this is still at the experimental stage but I hope to have resolved by next week....fingers crossed.
