At this stage of the project for non-place, I should be well through the experimental and development stage, however, as per usual I have hit a brick wall and seriously struggling. Although I have a clear image of how I would like my final artwork, I have yet to experiment with a variety of different materials, which will enable me to progress.
As it is an installation piece I am wanting to create, materials required are all within the college campus....not much help as we've been off all week. However, I have managed to produce a number of sketches as to how I can apply my concept in a 2D manner.
Materials I wish to experiment with are as follows:
Modroc
Wire
Plaster
Latex
Silk paper
The material I am most eager to use with reagards to a final piece is silk paper. This was a process taught during our last textiles workshop. It is a relatively easy and quick process, however a vast amount of the materials may be required. Due to the fact it is such as weightless material, it will make displaying the artwork relatively easy (hopefully).
I know the materials I want to use, I just need to confidence to go forward and experiment. Needing more confidence...story of my life.
Time if of the essence as the submission is a short 2 weeks away.
Time to get cracking......
Photo documentation of progress will be updated soon.....
